the windows had been down the entire drive. the sun was warm, the sky loosely dotted with pale clouds. she left to use the restroom, i wandered around the gravel parking lot. rocks grumbled with each step as i followed a barb wire fence protecting a field of tall dry grasses. a small shed filled with wood stood infront of me and the sound of thousands of grasshoppers and crickets buzzed behind it. a tiny kitten shaped cat peeked from a space in the grass and the wood, and then disappeared. above my head, the emerald blue sky propped itself ontop of tall mountains of rock and trees. amidst the clouds and the blue and the dry winds, countless swarms of dragonflies hovered, swaying with the wind.
