ok so that no one steals my idea, here is my plan for the next literary classic. this could even make it to film, and still hold as much creative merit:

so take any political event. any historical event. this might make a poorly thought out example, but lets use the recent iraq war. ok so take the generalizations, the masses, the ideas, and condense them into single characters. ok ok ok just bear with me...

ok, the characters.

some arab guy - an arabian ceo of some company (representing iraq and mostly, saddam hussein) say, an oil company. hes also a serial killer who assassinates his critics. he has a lot of respect, but its built on fear. he strictly controls his oil company and has many people who dislike him and the way he does business (i told you this is sort of a silly example).

some white guy - he will represent america. greedy. secretive. you dont really know whats going on. but hes the main competitor for the saddam hussien character. he wants the business and power the arab guy controls.

another arab guy - not really a friend of the other arab guy, but strongly dislikes the white guy. constantly keying his car. threatening the white guys friends. killing his friends. but all the while looking just like an ordinary mild mannered arab guy. secretly this guy wants control over first arab guys business, but will do whatever it takes to keep white guy from taking it.

ok so now take those characters, and let the story unfold. bingo! metaphorical representation of a historical event! in literary form! ok i know its a shitty example, but you can make dramas out of stories like...the war of the roses. the challenger disaster. the crusades. the cold war.

you can write them out as modern tales. just as long as the characters represent the ideas, the sides, the major factors of the historical event.

the cold war could be a story about two body building guys, each trying to out do each other to win a competition.

probably significantly more well thought out and written than just that...but does any of that make sense?

i think it would mkae pretty interesting stories. especially if the metaphors were suddenly figured out long after, instead of blantantly presented.

nevermind.
