stop. take a breath. now answer this one question:

what the fuck is going on?

i cant go a single goddamn day without hearing about the middle east, muslims, islamic fundamentalists, blood, bombs, beheadings, kidnappings, and now a fucking cartoon. seriously, i do not understand.

in a way, i can see where the offense would come from. say i was a devout christian, any cartoonish image of jesus christ, my savior, in some form of mockery would anger me. maybe it would anger me to the point of writing a letter to the editor or cartoonist. but then again, i would have to recognize that america has the freedom of speech and print and anyone is entitled to their opinion or ideas. its not exactly like the cartoon of christ is really the christ i choose to worship.

now, back to you muslims. granted, im generalizing to fundamentalists, but i cant help but wonder which muslims have been driven to fundamentalism by a simple cartoon. when do normal people with families and jobs and values suddenly become able to light buildings on fire and kill people? which is where i am so confused. i dont understand the point of marring even deeper an already tarnished image of the islamic faith by setting fire to dutch embassies in other countries. i understand youre angry. i understand youre offended. but seriously, where do you people draw the line? when will you stop being so fucking violent? when will you realize that anyone can say what they want, when they want it, and its not up to you whether or not they can. you are not the hammer of god. you are a person, a single human being and unfortunately, youre doing nothing to better yourself by threatening or killing or burning someone else. does that make sense? when will you people just start focusing on your countries, your governments, your economies, your civillians, your children, your communities?

i almost feel like you must feel like the world is out to get you. but the world is only out to get you because youre out to get the world.

now i know we have christian terrorists and christian sparked violence. just stand outside any abortion clinic and youre bound to see picketers, bible quoting armies and the occasional assassin and fire bomber.

at least those are the only examples i can draw from the news. if christian caucasians are out burying explosives on the side of the road in new york, or kidnapping 3rd generation american muslims in dayton, ohio...well then its not making the news and for that i am ignorant.

but just try to rationalize your thinking process. violence does not solve problems. you see this concept every day. and sure, its seems excessively futile for argument and critical discourse and boycotting. but look at the things gandhi achieved. look at what martin luther king jr achieved. things can happen without bombs or kidnappings or threats of violence. fear is a powerful tool, but in reality, unity is even more devastating.

your prophet is wearing a time bomb shaped turban and weilding a knife because thats how the rest of the world sees your religion. again, a generalization, but seriously. it only took a handful of muslim extremists to crash a few planes and get the ball rolling on everyone become wary of you. then the ball really got going when we forcibly entered your countries in an attempt to liberate you. and by liberate i mean...i have no idea what our honest intentions were, just what i was told. but hey, big surprise when the white population charactatures your religion with a stereotypical image and then you faithfully follow suit with it. we show you as being violent, and wow you start killing people and lighting things on fire. great job guys, a really great way to show how reasonable the muslim religion is.

fix your problems. dont worry about the dutch. and for fucks sake, its a goddamn cartoon. we print thousands of fucking cartoons showing jesus and strippers every day. no one firebombs anything over here. or in europe. because its ridiculous. and you are being ridiculous.
