the sound of shattered steel and cement crunch beneath my shoes. bales of paper flutter and swirl around my body like a dense fog. however, amidst the symphony of sirens and the deep rumble of flame, a silence dampens the air. the screams run silent, the shouting muffled. streams of fleeing people flood past in ever thickening channels of suits, ties and blouses, blood, ash and tears. i push forward, a stone against the flow.

the sky is blue, clear and crisp. the ground trembles in the wake of burning steel. a slow glance to my watch shows the analog numbers counting down, painfully slow.

i have just fifty six minutes. fifty six minutes to find some six hundred people and get them out. thats one hundred and ten floors ill need to clear out.

one hundred and ten.

get the people away from the towers. get the officers. get the firemen. get the civillians. get them away. this is going to be close.

fifty six minutes to use the vast array of resources my imagination can provide to do more than was humanly possible.

leaving me only forty seven minutes to save one thousand, three hundred and sixty six individuals from the north tower. thats another one hundred and ten floors to empty.

i can do this.

lets begin.
