oh my sweetest dear mother. how much i appreciate her sacrifices and selfless giving. her compassion is unwaivering. her generosity is endless.

but she has got to knock it off once in a while.

my biggest pet peeve of hers is that she seemingly has the inability to say no. a stern, definitive no. there always has to be some list of excuses as to why she cant do something, when its obvious that she just doesnt want to. that shes already got alot on her plate and cant handle anything more.

and ive told her this repeatedly. mother, i say, if you dont want to do something, then just say so. a quiet acceptance of this will follow, and then again a repeat of the excuses again!
ive just got too much laundry to do. ive got to get maison to school and back and then to the store. i have too many people coming over tomorrow. mike worked in the garage and its too full.

so mother. listen. stop. its ok to say no once and a while. i dont need excuses. if you dont want to do something, you dont want to do something...and i understand! you dont need to bend over backwards all the time, and i dont take it personally when your life gets in the way of my requests.

now cut it out.

ps youre still the best mom ive had.
