ah, a house warming party. almost 30 days since i moved from south east portland to tigard. i miss portland. i miss close proximity to friends, safeway, downtown, bars.

i dont miss the noise. its silent here.

i dont miss the fear of crime towards ashton, me or my property. it seems pretty safe here.

my townhouse has vents in the ceiling and in the floor heated by a gas central heating unit. no more wall mounted floor electric heaters. the water gets hot enough to burn you. i have a garage and a culdesac. ashton has friends who come over nearly every day to see if he can come out and play. zach and chandler.

julie and i function well together in this setting. she uses our bedroom floor as her dresser. i dont park my car far enough into the driveway. our pantry is full of food. i dont think we have enough pots. where i see function, julie sees HGTV home decorating in stark unnecessary contrast. but it works. and i think it works well.

i suppose it was worth killing off my fish tank for.
