holy shit. this fucking hurts. goddamnit.

that fucking anemone.

i have welts right in the soft unprotected achilles heel of my upper forearm. that soft tissue at the joint of the elbow.

and they hurt. sting. burn.

ugh. like, ants burrowing in my flesh. like beestings that smeared instead of localized. the welts are like warts, extending upwards in little mounds to mark the point of impact.

tiny barbed spears that stick into my flesh and inject a rush of poison. thousands of them. to a fish, this is a paralyzing pain that keeps them immobilized, so the massive anemone may ever so slowly pull the victim into its mouth. the digestion is slow. the animal is still alive, but in unbearable pain.

normally the thick exoskeleton of callouses on my hands cause the stings to be deflected, but in the underbelly of my...well fuck, what is that area called? on top of your elbow? your joint?

it hurts.
