the gaps between entries is increasing. i dont like this. Not Dark Yet by Bob Dylan is setting the pace and tone for this entry this evening.

last night mike told me that in the event something should happen to him and my mom, i would be responsible for figuring out what to do with the ensuing insurance policy money. i was quite flattered. following the death of a highly respected police officer, i believe mike has been more slightly more aware of his own mortality. and in bringing up the issue of his unexpected death, i was also made aware of the real possibility both him and my mother could be unexpectedly killed. i have pushed aside seriously considering this possibility as a way of denying the feelings ill inevitably have to face. its not time to consider this yet. its not time to prepare. im quite sure procrastinating on this will have unfortunate consequences.
