the teeth wobble.

the bottom middle two. theyre coming out soon, and thus the start of my periodically toothless child.

he had his shots for kindergarten. four of them with several more to go over the next few months. tonight is his graduation from preschool. and after that....backpacks, lunch boxes, lots of driving, homework, friends, birthday parties, field trips and chaperones, parent teacher conferences, report cards, bullies, girls, school supplies, coupons, books, and school bus rides.

i looked at a picture my sister posted on her myspace of ashton on my shoulders. hes huge. hes no longer the little child i remember, hes a miniature adult. sitting on my shoulders. and hell be attending a public school in just a few more months. and then for the next 12 years.

today, during his bouts of sensitivity, he told me not to talk to him since he was mad at me. he told me he was just having a bad day and didnt know why. everything was asked for with a whine and a few tears. those shots really sapped him of his composure. or its a phase.

reading. i want him to get started on reading. he knows his alphabet very well, and knows the sounds the letters make. hes struggling to put the sounds together to form recognizeable words. the curiosity is there.

maintaining it is the difficult part.
