a collection of songs from she & him have replaced the never ending chorus of john murphys surface of the sun on my itunes.

current temperature is 24 degrees. there is ice still glistening on the roads. in another 15 minutes ill try to drive on it.

today is my birthday.

last night some good friends braved cold, ice and car accidents to meet for alcohol. the efforts of julie and her myspace bulletins, her facebook events and her mass text messages lured out a brain, a sphinx, justin michael davis, russell&kara, christina and jeremy. linda was there with three of her girlfriends. the first conversation they had, cross table of course, was about nipple piercings. so i asked one of the girls about her dually pierced nipples. there was a table hush as shame over took the girl, and suddenly i was the asshole bringing up sensitive information.

eventually they defected to their own table. and were quickly swarmed by a sphinx and a smarmy grin.

he ended up with a phone number.

we played pool. we collected dollars for a huge bowl of fruit and alcohol. and then everyone filtered out towards home. leaving only the standard four to win the party.

which of course culminated in video games back at my house.
