a job. i found one.

its part time. 25 to 28 hours a week. sundays tuesdays and wednesdays.

yes, its at a fish store. i roll my eyes too, dont worry. im replacing a guy who worked there for over a decade. who was costing the store hundreds of dollars in business a week because of his poor attitude, inconsistent emotions and personal problems he carried to work with him every day. after numerous complaints, he was let go and i received an offer before he was even told.

i currently get $252 on unemployment. $234 after taxes, per week. if thats divided into the same 25 hour work week, thats about $10 an hour.

ill get $12 an hour for this job. however, since tuesdays and wednesdays are notoriously slow and the previous employee struggled to even break $500 in sales during these days i was offered a daily bonus if i could reach $1000 a day. an additional $40. this should be easy since most everything in the store is valued at $50+. calculated out, i could be making closer to $15 an hour. per month, thats around $1520 before taxes. thats $584 more per month than just my unemployment, in addition ill significantly increase my intimate one on one contact with customers looking for me to maintain their systems. ill be able to distribute my business cards freely.

so while it is just another fish store job, part time at that, it has the potential to get me back into a more comfortable income level. and considering how easy the work is and how much i enjoy this sort of educational interaction with people, its a start.

a good start.
