during my most boring class today i took a few moments to write out the vocabulary of my 14 month old son. ive translated as well, as some of his vocabulary is barely discernable as english.
this is what he is capable of:
ball (bah) his first word.
fan (dah) his second word. he loves fans. or at least pointing them out.
turtle (mo) my turtle is named gizmo, and hes unable to say the 'giz' part. and he refers to all turtles as 'mo'.
truck (guck) this includes cars and airplanes. and he makes a vroom sound by blowing air from closed lips. i dont know how he learned to make this sound.
rock (gock)
dad (da da) learned this long before he learned the mom.
mom (ma ma)
bottle (ba ba) i love hearing him cry for this when hes really tired.
water (wa wa)
bedtime (nigh nigh) when he gets really tired he starts saying this.
hi
bye bye. he says this and open and closes his hand.
dog (dag gie) he loves chasing around cody saying this. and will even recognize a picture of a dog on a computer screen.
food (mmmm or nana)
banana (na na)
apple (ap pull)
bubble (bob bull) said while in baths, but also when looking at washing machines.
what is this (was da) loves saying this and pointing in random directions. said most when hes crying after hes hurt himself or didnt get what he wanted.
hot. he says this like a whisper. with emphasis like hhhhhhhhhot.
that (dah)
boob (boo boo) loves these.
poop (poo poo)
gross (ca ca)
moon
eye. he says this and usually points to his ear, but he knows what you mean. just doesnt have good control of his arms yet.
thank you (dank ew)
ow. this means cuts or scratches, or hell say it when i give him tattoos with pens and he wants them off.
whoa
uh oh
so thats it. so far. a whopping 28 words. theres even a phrase in there. this is only the beginning to his genius. soon more will come. and he will become the staple by which all other children shall be judged.
BEHOLD! THE GLORY THAT IS MY SON! COWER BEFORE HIM MORTALS!
