10.12.05 - 10:06 pm the rationality of arrogance. my response: "so?" the scenario: a houseful of mexicans. allegedly with guns. the problem: mexicans have been stealing car stereos out of the highschool parking lot. fifteen stolen stereos and audio equipment in two weeks. their house has been located. the players: a group of highschool juniors and seniors with baseball bats. probably a knife. maybe a rock. the fear: someone will get shot. potential death. the outcome: lets say these guys show up at the house of these mexican theives. maybe they will be carrying their bats. they will be angry. lots of f-words exchanged. realistically - a door will be slammed in the faces of the misdirected teens, maybe some cars will get keyed, and maybe some police called for disrupting the peace. nothing more than guys yelling at guys. hypothetical - the slightly obese woman holding open the door trying her best to speak english will suddenly be pushed aside, the door flung wide open and a black metalic device will be pointed directly in the face of josh williams. the camera freezes. cut. will one of the mexicans suddenly just open fire on a group of highschoolers? no. what happens when someone gets shot? what happens when someone gets shot and killed? SHIT GOES DOWN. while cops in small towns such as wilsonville may be inept as policemen, their wet dream is still a gunshot victim. especially that of a teen. the cops show up, if the mexican who shot the kid runs, well his friends all get interrogated, names are tossed out, investigation continues until the guy is found in woodburn some two days later. but none of that would happen. no one would get shot. not in wilsonville. not by a mexican. not because josh williams and zak bartel are standing out front their house with bats. it would just be too easy for the mexicans to just close the door, look out the peep hole and immediately call the police and get those highschoolers arrested for harassment. so..yeah.....who cares if they have guns? theyre fucked if they use them. and i doubt they have enough experience in shooting them to hit anything other than the pavement. and once they let those bullets fly...even if they miss, theyre fucked.
