05.25.11 - 8:47 am this was a man letting off steam. sloughing off the weight of the day. reconnecting with his emotions. one tennis ball at a time. unkempt grey hair. bright blue tank top. smoldering cigarette pressed firmly between his teeth with every grunt of exertion. a pile of brilliant green tennis balls at his feet. completely alone in a park overgrown with dense forest. standing off the trail just above the river. hitting the balls one at a time into the water. barely watching them drift out of sight before hitting another. and when he was done, he casually strolled off. twirling his racket, no longer a man of burden.
